European Chevrolet has announced its new installment of Spark - formerly known as Matiz - a cute super-super mini that now grows considerably larger, mostly in width. The new model gets a more aggresive look contrasting with smooth bio features of the old one. On some markets, for example in Italy, both generations are on sale together that is now becoming a common practice (take Peugeot 207/206, Skoda Octavia, Renault Clio/Campus). Auto giants are not sure if you are still able and want to pay for their new model rush?

New Meriva

Opel/Vauxhall is about to announce its new compact van model Meriva. It is an akward looking cubicle, in front similar to its sister Corsa. New Meriva also features rediculous rear doors opening backwards. This looks really disgusting. Quite a number of new cars are more pleasant to eye.

New Ford Focus

Great looking grille, rear lights of complex geometry, zigzag lines on doors. The all-new Ford Focus III looks just fantastic and sets new benchmark for C-class cars. Shame the bland looking Golf! Focus is definetely beats Golf on every aspect. Focus is similar to the new Fiesta but it’s deeper, more impressive and solid. New Focus is shown in Detroit and it is a sign: the same new model will be sold in both Europe and North America.

Volkswagen is on rise while BMW and Opel slipping

On Paris motor show Volkswagen people are enthusiastic about current year’s sales and are fully optimistic for 2009 while Opel and especially BMW report significant cut in sales this year hit by global ecomonic crisis.
